SEO (search engine optimisation) simply means the process of making your website visible on search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo.

For most of us the Internet is the first place we turn to when we are looking for something new, how to complete a task or just for general advice; our go-to source of information. With Google by our side we're even brave enough take on DIY tasks without consulting the fountain of all knowledge that is more commonly known as 'Dad'.

BACKGROUNDWith a 45% market share, over 500,000 animals insured under their policies and a reputation for their affordable and friendly approach they are the UK’s number 1 pet insurer.

THE CHALLENGEIn a hugely competitive marketplace Petplan needed to improve ranking on major search engines to reflect with their high quality product. The company asked us to develop a solution that optimized their website for higher visibility incorporating the successful elements of their existing marketing efforts.

THE SOLUTIONNumo had been providing Search Engine Optimisation for Allianz since 2000 with a history of providing a cost effective service and excellent results Numo were chosen to work closely with the agency to develop a solution. In collaboration with the Petplan’s team we created a bespoke SEO (search engine optimisation) package tailored to the time scale and KPIs of the project.Petplan’s existing Pay Per Click campaign was integrated into the strategy and after some extensive research to identify the most relevant terms, the website was optimized in line with the most recent search engine developments.

Here is just a sample of the terms identified for the highest traffic: pet insurance, pet cover, cat insurance, dog insurance… the list goes on.

THE RESULTSPetplan is now ranked:

  • No. 1 for Pet Insurance
  • No. 1 for Pet Cover
  • No. 2 for UK pet insurance

Petplan Equine is now ranked:

  • No. 1 for Equine insurance
  • No. 1 for Horse insurance UK
  • No. 1 for Rider Insurance
